small joys
Yesterday in the mail I receiveda copy of “Natura 2000 – Protecting Europe’s biodiversity“, a book by the European Commission that highlights the most important natural areas of Europe, areas that need to be protected to ensure their survival. (The book is free and can be requested in the EU bookshop at the link above).
It’s a very nice book and the news is that they used one picture I had taken underwater, showing some red coral. The picture is a normal photo, nothing spectacular, but I really liked to see that the editors discovered it on Flickr, asked my permission to print it and then sent me the copy of the book.
They’d offered to pay something for the pic, but being it for a good cause, for a “for free” book and being a normal pic I just asked for a copy of the book and the photocredit.
In the past 10 years I’ve had over 400 articles (and counting) articles published in several scuba diving magazines, with pics too, still this was nice.
